Distinct Papers is a one-stop online shop for just about any sort of blank paper or envelope you could need — and we've recently added even more choices to our collection. Given our obsession with all things paper, we are always on the lookout for top-notch stationery boutiques. It's inspiring to browse a brick-and-mortar shop that's artfully stuffed with creative greeting cards, modern journals, and eye-popping wrapping paper. Check out six of our favorite paper boutiques around the U.S. Did we miss your go-to paperie? Leave it in the comments.

Ecru Paper in Portland
LeAnn Dolan opened Ecru in 2006 because she believed in the power of the personal note. She was clearly on to something as she now has two stores, one in Downtown and the other in the Pearl District. There's plenty of Portland love on the shelves stocked with cards, journals, adult coloring books, and other home and personal goods like candles and lapel pins, but to be happy here, all you really need to appreciate is a well-chosen greeting card.

Oh My Word in Sioux Falls
Every small city in America should wish for a stationery shop like Oh My Word in its downtown. Kate Spade desk-top calendars, Mari Mi journals, polka-dotted highball glasses — there's a lot to like about this little shop started by three women with a passion for clean, functional design and handwritten correspondence. They're so dedicated to the idea of fostering a love of writing on paper that they host workshops on topics like calligraphy and making winter prints. Pens are also for sale, including one that claims to last for seven years (if you don't lose it, that is).

Urbanic in Los Angeles
It helps to know the backstory on this darling little shop at the eastern end of Venice's now haute shopping street, Abbot Kinney. Owners Audrey Woollen and her husband Joshua Woollen met while on opposite coasts, and it was handcrafted letters that brought them together. Inside the light and airy shop with a subtle beachy vibe, you'll find colorful stationery goods from Snow & Graham, Rifle, and other well-respected brands alongside cards from local outfits like Dee&Lala and Social Type. Book an appointment to browse the custom invitations options.

Papél in Brooklyn
This modern paper boutique in Brooklyn's chic Cobble Hill neighborhood has been pleasing everyone from quick card shoppers to picky brides-to-be since Raegan Hirvela opened it in 2009. You'll find cheeky cards from small presses like Great Lakes, elegant baby books from Rag and Bone, a small selection of books, quirky knick knacks, and beautiful wrapping paper to tie it all together. One thing's for sure, you won't leave empty handed.

Greer in Chicago
Chandra Greer handpicks everything that goes into her sweet Lincoln Park paper boutique. Planners from Clap Clap, letterpress gift tags from Oblation, and blank notebooks from Mossery share space with very of-the-moment greeting cards ("I'd let you see my browser history" reads one Valentine's Day card). Take advantage of Greer's thoughtful stock of pens — ballpoint, felt, fountain, rollerball — and make your handwritten note habit official.

Brands like Moleskin, Rifle, Snow & Graham are represented, and there's a solid bath and body selection if you need more than just a card to say you care.
